Practical things to pack for your car trip

By: Laine Yates

Here is a travel checklist of practical things to pack for your car trip:

1) Wet wipes - great for little sticky fingers and mouths.

2) Antibacterial gel - ideal to have when public loos do not have any soap (too often the case!)

3) Towels - to mop up spillages or car sickness accidents.

4) Plastic bags - to put the towels and rubbish in.

5) Change of clothes handy - just in case! I tend to keep a little bag by our kids' feet, so I do not have to unpack the whole car to get to our suitcases at the bottom of the boot!

6) First aid kit - for minor accidents.

7) For a more comfortable journey - pack pillows and blankets.

8) Depending on space - a travel table is really handy for kids to play their brain teaser games on, read their activity books etc.

9) Porta potty if you are "toilet training" your little ones. I have this great travel potty that folds out into a seat and the plastic bag is attached underneath which can be thrown in the bin after the little ones have finished with it. No fuss, no mess... perfect!

I hope this checklist gives you an idea of the things to pack. Do you have anything on your list that is a "must"? Contact us here and tell us about it.
