Reader's Question

I have a 5 month old and am finally starting to feel better about my post baby body aside from my hideous stretch marks... I would love to be able to feel comfortable in my bikini this summer! Is it possible to get rid of stretch marks? and how?...

Sally's Response

Firstly congratulations on feeling fabulous about your body after birth! The short answer to "is it possible to get rid of stretch marks" is no. Even the best surgery that claims to remove stretch marks all together often falls short and leaves further scarring. The good news however is that you can certainly reduce the length, depth and severity of stretch marks, so that they are barely visible and you can feel comfortable about getting back into that bikini.

There are a few options out on the market that have some positive reviews. The one thing I will say is to be sure that the product you are buying has clinically proven trials supporting what it says it does. There are loads of cheap options on the market that claim everything under the sun, but the truth is there a very few options on the market in Australia that actually do what they say they do.

Belli of course has a fabulous stretch mark minimising cream for existing stretch marks that has clinically proven trials that show a reduction in length, depth and severity of stretch marks by up to 76% in the trial. As with any creams on the market you must be diligent and use it every day for at least 5 weeks to start to see results, continuing after that for as long as you continue to see reduction. If you are not prepared to use whatever product you choose daily and for the specified time frame, then you will be wasting your money. So before your start on any program make sure you have allocated that time to yourself first thing in the morning or before you go to bed, for you to take just a few minutes to rub it in.

Just know that even with the stretch marks that you can see, your body is beautiful and it is that body that nourished a beautiful baby for 9 months and gave birth to a little person that will forever remind you that even the stretch marks were all worth it! J celebrate you and get into your bikini with or without stretch marks and be proud of what you have achieved... but if you feel you want a little help then you can certainly reduce the marks with Belli!

Good luck

Warmly

Sal
