I have been using Dermalogica overnight clearing gel directly on the spots to help get rid of them quicker and I wanted to know if this product was okay to use during pregnancy? If there is a better or safer solution to help me get rid of these unsightly spots, please advise. Thanks and I look forward to your reply. Sally's Response Thank you for enquiry. It is a common concern of women suffering from hormonal acne during pregnancy and unfortunately there are very few options out there that are safe and effective on acne and skin breakout during pregnancy. The Belli Skin Care Acne Clearing Facial wash in the pregnancy range is specially formulated for hormonal acne and we have had women get fabulous results using on their face, upper chest and back. It is a toner, cleanser, exfoliator in one and you can use it as a spot treatment and mask as well. I can't comment on whether the Dermalogica product you are using is safe or not for use during pregnancy, however as the only teratology screened pregnancy range in the world, Belli has the safety question answered at the highest level, so there is no question about our safety for use during pregnancy. Feel free to email Dermalogica and ask them directly if their product has any known teratogens, this will be something that they should be giving due care and consideration in answering and not just assuming that their product is free of any concerning ingredients. I always suggest that people are not scared of asking their skin care company this question and any other question at all. Their answers should be researched and supported by documentation. The Acne wash I would suggest you use as a mask on day 1 - using without water and covering the area with a light film (no need to use to much), leave it on for 8 minutes on your face and about 10 minutes on your back and chest. Wash off and then repeat this 3 days later. In between masks, use a very small amount as a spot treatment on those spots that you would like to get additional treatment for. Twice daily for the first 10 days place a small amount into the palm of your hand and wash with water the face, back and chest, always using the coldest water you can get your hands on to wash off, this closes the pours of the skin to ensure bacteria does not get in any further. After that time, you should mask once a week and should only need once a day washing, rather than twice daily as your skin will be feeling fabulous and then it is about up keep rather than really working out that bacteria. I hope this helps and as always all Belli Skin Care products go a long way, so be sure to use a small amount. You don't need to squeeze the tube of acne wash, simply open top and allow to pour slowly into your hand, this will ensure that the tube lasts and lasts. Good luck and I hope to hear you have fabulous clear skin in the near future! Remember our VIP club gives you 15% off online. Warmly, View more Skin Care Help Questions and Responses.
