Mum Zone is gearing up as a popular site amongst Australian mums and mums-to-be. The site was launched in June 2007 and in a few short months has gained several thousand members and continues to grow daily.
The site offers mums an expanding pool of relevant and practical parenting and pregnancy resources ranging from articles, media releases, tips, child care reviews, product reviews, business and careers section, book reviews, gift ideas, pregnancy calculator, discussion forum, baby directory, baby names, birthstones, birth flowers, baby star signs, free baby gear classifieds and more.
Members are encouraged to contribute to these resources and share their own ideas, experiences and knowledge with other mums. The philosophy of the site is for members to find something useful for themselves whilst helping someone else at the same time. The information ranges from snippets like parenting and pregnancy tips, a fortnightly poll and baby directory listings to in-depth articles, media releases and advertorials on a variety of relevant issues and topics.
Each member receives the twice-a-month newsletter full of baby and pregnancy related articles, media releases, tips, product reviews, baby names, discussion issues, poll questions, baby directory listings and more.
The discussion forum is a great networking tool for mums and pregnant mums who can give and receive support from each other. Knowing that someone else has faced the same challenges is a great comfort and being able to discuss things openly and in depth can be really beneficial.
Each month Mum Zone holds a competition offering great baby and pregnancy related prizes that are donated by small businesses. These competitions offer an avenue for related small businesses to connect with their target audience.
The site is designed to fulfil a need for simple, down-to-earth, practical resources for mums online - especially new mums - to help get them on the right track to looking after a baby. Some mums are lucky enough to join a parents group but some don't have a support network to ask simple questions like - How do I treat my baby's nappy rash? How much should I feed my baby? Where can I find breastfeeding support? ...and so on.
Mums are staying in hospital for a lot less time when their babies are born these days so they may not have the opportunity to ask all of the questions they would like to. Many questions don't arise until after they are home and they may not have anyone to ask. Mum Zone is specifically designed to help fill that gap.
