King Edward Memorial Hospital:
New website helps parents choose their pregnancy and birth care
King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) has officially launched a new website for prospective parents wanting information about their pregnancy care and birth options in the public health system.
The 'Having a Baby in Perth' website provides a full list of public maternity hospitals in the Perth metropolitan area, including details of the services and facilities available.
Executive Director of the Women and Newborn Health Service, Dr Amanda Frazer said the new website will help prospective parents navigate some of the early decisions they must make on their journey to parenthood.
"Making decisions about pregnancy, postnatal care and the type of birth they want are two of the many important choices parents have to make," she said.
"Sifting through the options can be an exciting but daunting task and we hope this new website will make those decisions a little easier by providing a one-stop site for accessing information about maternity care in the public health system".
In the coming months the website will be expanded to include information on maternity care in regional areas along with advice for private patients.
The 'Having a Baby in Perth' website can be accessed via the KEMH internet homepage and on the link below.
