Queensland mum finds a natural solution to ease allergy & behavioural problems
More and more people are suffering from allergies
to everyday foods such as wheat, dairy and egg together with many of
the chemicals used in our foods and finding foods that are easy to prepare,
allergy free and taste good, is a constant battle.
Kylie Hollonds was faced with the challenge of creating wheat free
products for her husband Rod who was suffering from a range of allergies.
At the time of his diagnosis there was very little available for allergy
sufferers and they found that there list of foods Rod was able to eat,
was becoming smaller by the day.
Out of desperation they began testing their own flour mixes using whey,
tapioca, potato starch and rice flour. After many trials their range
of Brighterlife Wheatfree products was created. The range consists of
easy to use wheat free flours that can be used to create bread, bread
rolls, cakes and desserts.
One of the side benefits to the range has been that
a lot of customers are reporting changes in their children’s behaviour
once they switch to the products created by the team at Brighterlife
Wheatfree. Children with behavioural conditions such as Autism, ADD
and ADHD have shown dramatic improvement after using the range of flours
available from www.wheatfree.com.au.
Kylie says “our aim is to show people how easy it can be to use
wheat free products and still have great tasting food. We have developed
a range of products and recipes that allow even the most sensitive of
allergy sufferers to still enjoy bread and desserts”.
The “Get Me Started” pack has been created to give people
an opportunity to try the products to see for themselves just how wonderful
the food can taste once again.
“I made the speedy bread rolls - fantastic! No need to get out
the mixer. Mine were like a soft, fluffy focaccia. You can imagine my
disappointment when the babysitter had fed them to the kids for afternoon
tea!” - Alison, Sydney NSW
