Antioxidants help support precious little eyes

Looking to the future with launch of S-26 GOLD® TODDLER with Lutein

Antioxidant sourced from marigold flower helps support precious little eyes

S-26 GOLD® TODDLER is the first toddler milk drink in Australia to be fortified with Lutein, a clever antioxidant naturally sourced from the marigold flower1 that may help shield precious little eyes2.

Lutein is specifically concentrated in the retina of the eye and helps support toddler eye health by neutralising free radicals3,4,5. Lutein can’t be produced by the body, so it must be obtained from their diet. However, some of the sources of Lutein such as dark green and leafy vegetables like spinach, peas and broccoli are not always among their favourite foods. Two serves of S-26 GOLD TODDLER with Lutein is similar to that provided by an extra serving of green beans or mixed vegetables per day.

S-26 GOLD TODDLER contains Lutein, Omega 3 and Vitamin A. These nutrients all help support toddler eye health. S-26 GOLD TODDLER is specifically designed so parents can provide important age-appropriate nutrients to their toddler’s diet when intake of nutrients and energy may not be adequate.

“Nutrition plays an important part in helping support toddler eye health and development and the addition of Lutein to S-26 GOLD TODDLER marks an Australian first,” said Yvonne Bowyer, General Manager of Wyeth Nutrition.

A recent survey amongst Aussie mums revealed nine-in-ten (89.7%) see nutrition as important in the health and development of their child’s eyes6, but an equal proportion (90%) have never heard of lutein before.

Parents can learn more about toddler eye health by visiting the ‘Eye Health Centre’ which shows how a child’s eye develops and includes more information about Lutein – www.wyethnutrition.com.au.
