Example Reader's Question for Ruth
My son turned 2 last week, and attends daycare 4 days a week (since 10 months old has been at same centre). I have had numerous meetings with Day care about his hitting, pushing, biting and pulling hair. He has started to do it to myself and hubby as well. We say no and focus on gentle touch, which is what day care have suggested. They now have told me it is so bad they cannot take their eyes off him as he targets children and babies and pushes and pulls and bites. I am also noticing the main carer's frustration when I go to collect him each day and they are telling me what I should be doing.... Read Ruth's Response How Does it Work?

About
Choosing Child Care and Behavioural Guidance Consulting
Choosing Child Care is an affordable book / easy to read guide for all parents who are either looking to use or currently have their child in Child Care or Early Childhood programme. The book gives parents knowledge regarding quality care practices as well as insight into your child's day whilst in care. Ruth wrote Choosing Child Care to enable parents to feel confident when leaving their child whilst helping to bridge the gap between the environment of home and care.
Behaviour Guidance consulting: 'Parents embrace' is an affordable telephone and email consulting service that covers a wide range of everyday worries and ongoing behaviour problems that parents are often faced with. I have found my knowledge in Child Development invaluable with my own children yet my children continue to teach, delight and....yes, challenge me! My experience as a parent has truly deepened my knowledge and understanding of children's natural enthusiasm, play and spirituality. Challenging behaviour in children can seem over whelming at times, as it can feel like each week can bring with it a new challenge. I evaluate the behaviour and work closely with parents to define and implement a clear, effective strategy that supports a positive parenting approach.
