In the inaugural installment of the Fisher-Price® Expert Series, renowned Early Childhood Development expert and author Kathy Walker shares her extensive knowledge relating to oral language and physical development, an insight into the newborn baby’s brain and tackles the growing issue of time poor parenting.

Kathy Walker has been working with children, parents and teachers for over 30 years. “What’s the Hurry”, her book for parents, was an Australian bestseller and she has a new book on positive parenting due out in 2010.

A former lecturer in child development at Victoria’s Swinburne and RMIT Universities, Kathy developed The Walker Learning Approach - a curriculum being implemented by hundreds of schools across Australia.

Kathy was made a Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders in recognition of her contribution to the field.

Kathy’s consultancy, Early Life Foundations, provides support to families, government,
educational institutions and the corporate sector.
